Tips on Landscaping and Lawn Maintenance
Landscaping also known as grounds keeping, can be defined as an activity that involves modification of visible features of an area of a particular land. These features include; natural elements like elevation, terrain shapes and land forms or water bodies and living elements like fauna or flora, in one word we call it gardening. The art of growing plants for the purpose of beauty on a landscape is known as gardening. Also abstract elements like lightening conditions and the weather are part of the features. Keeping the landscape clean, attractive, healthy and safe mostly in parks, gardens, estates , institutional settings and yards is what is called landscape maintenance.
With the right tools, knowledge, physical exertion, skills and supplies, a good groundskeeper can be able to plan an annual table for planting and harvesting, gardening, lawn care, fertilizing and periodic weeding, snow removal, path and driveway maintenance, topiary, fencing, lighting, runoff drainage, irrigation, swimming pool care and other jobs for improving and protecting the plants, garden accessories and topsoil. Groundskeeper should be able to create means or repelling or attracting desired local animals such as insects, birds, reptiles, domestic animals and pets. A koi pond can be put in a garden if the garden is to be designed to contain exotic animals. When it comes to large areas, a groundskeeper is required to maintain and provide for the wild animals’ habitat.
Maintaining an area planted with grass or clover in some other cases is basically known as lawn maintenance which is also similar to landscaping. Species of grass is what is contained in a lawn, and particular activities are usually done to maintain its green color and mowed after a period of time so that it can maintain a uniform level. Seasonal lawn establishment and care varies since it is affected with the climate zone and the type of lawn grown.
Seeding can be done early autumn, early summer and spring but before commencing aerate to allow the turf to be thicker and the roots to go deeper. Some may go for another way called turfing which can provide an instant lawn. In most temperate climates and in any season you will not have any problems going with the turfing method. Regular cutting of the grass or allowing animal grazing are ways used to maintain a rough lawn. Lawns may need to be maintained twice a week when it is hot or in rainy seasons in regions that contain hardiness zones.
In order to do construction you will need to do studies and observations because the landscape is not the same on different parts of the world. The same is done when doing landscaping, if it is done for the first time for a successful outcome you will have understand the site first.
